THEATER MASTERS Take Ten 2025: National MFA Playwrights Festival

Each year, Theater Masters hosts a national 10-minute playwriting competition among MFA playwriting students: Take Ten. This year 5 winning plays were selected by a reading panel of industry professionals. Once selected, the MFA playwrights are given feedback to further develop their plays, as well as time in a rehearsal room with a cast and new play director. The week culminates in a public reading presentation of their work.

This year Theater Masters will present new work from MFA playwrights Avery Deutsch (The University of Texas at Austin), Natalie Lambert (University of California, Los Angeles), Sondai NaNaBuluku, (Carnegie Mellon University), Phanésia Pharel (UC San Diego), and Emmy Weissman (Hunter College)

The public reading presentation, directed by Violeta Picayo and Jessica Wu, will occur at 7:00pm on Saturday April 26th

The 2025 program is led and produced by Director Julie Kramer.
