THE FANATICS is fueled by post-war rage and predicts the next war, 15 years ahead of time. In 1938, a revival of the play was planned and Malleson revised his script for the time, but the production was scrapped just as Neville Chamberlain was meeting with Hitler. Our production will incorporate some of the alterations Malleson made for that production.
THE FANATICS, Malleson’s most successful play, although it took three years to make it from publication to production in 1927. It will be the fourth Malleson play produced by the Mint. In 2017, we produced YOURS UNFAITHFULLY, an “un-romantic comedy” about the price of free love, which was published in 1933, but never produced—making Mint’s production a belated World Premiere.
